The NPS Team wish IKEA all the best with their fantastic new store. NPS has commenced fuel supply to Johnson and Johnson, Ringaskiddy, Cork. J&J's new wood chip boilers are up and running and NPS have made their first delivery of wood chip to Ringaskiddy. The wood chip meets with J&J's moisture content requirements and the wood chip is supplied from controlled or certified wood. This means that the wood comes from responsibly managed forests which have an environmental ethos at their core. NPS will also remove the ash residue from the boilers which will be used as fertiliser for our Willow plantation in Dungourney. NPS launch own brand wood pellets Natural Flame. Natural Power Supply has fitted an energy cabin at the world-renowned Coolmore Stud, a hub which will allow a house on the estate to be heated using wood chips and solar panels.It is one of the latest green initiatives at Coolmore, an extensive stud farm in county Tipperary which lies on some of Ireland’s very best land. The business is internationally recognised as the ‘Home of Champions’. Coolmore already features an extensive bio-filtering waste water system through the use of willows. Willow consumes all the waste water at Coolmore as part of its natural growth cycle – a process which is an effective, sustainable and environmentally friendly way of treating a waste product and one which does not allow the produce to re-enter the human food chain. €200 million to be spent on Energy R&D. Minister announces new renewable energy grant scheme. Energy Minister Eamon Ryan has announced that businesses, schools and hospitals can now receive grants for the installation of biomass-fuelled and anaerobic digestion Combined Heat and Power Units. €11 million has been allocated for the CHP grants and it is expected that €8 million of this will taken up by biomass NPS welcome Bio energy Scheme 2008. Minister for State at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Mary Wallace has announced the second phase of the Bio energy Scheme offering establishment grants to farmers to plant willow and miscanthus for bio energy. The scheme will support the planting of up to 1,600 hectares of miscanthus and willow by providing up to 50% of the establishment cost subject to a maximum grant of €1,450 per hectare. NPS launch wood fuel depots in Cork and Wicklow. In late 2007, NPS established two new depots. Based in Ballynoe, Co. Cork, Dairy farmers and agri-service providers, Edward and Linda O’Keeffe, are among the latest farm families to team up with NPS to promote a cleaner, greener environment through the use of wood fuel. Former dairy farmer John Webb has just opened an NPS wood chip depot at Cooldross Farm, Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow. From his extensive farm base located just off the M50, Mr. Webb will chip wood and distribute the fuel which will power the NPS boilers in businesses or large, one-off houses across Wicklow and South Dublin. NPS sign wood chip supply contract with HSE. NPS has commence delivering wood chip to St. Brigid's Hospital Ballinasloe following the recent installation of two 80kW KWB multifire boilers. Diageo receive award from Chambers Ireland for 'Best Environment Based Project by a Multinational Corporation'. NPS willow plantation in Kilkenny is used as a bio-filtration site for brewery waste products from Diageo. A submission from Diageo incorporating this willow plantation has been awarded a Chambers Ireland award. Willow dried successfully on the headland has been chipped using a Jenz chipper and the material is available as wood fuel. NPS plants 100 acres of willow under the Bioenergy Grant Scheme NPS successfully planted 100 acres of 8 different varieties willow for farmers this spring. NPS signs Wood Supply contract with Department of Agriculture. NPS signed a contract with Department of Agriculture in Johnstown Castle Estate to fuel the new Biomass boiler. NPS is delighted with the opportunity to supply wood-fuel in the form of wood chip to this new boiler in the Johnstown Castle Estate in Wexford. NPS will be sourcing its wood locally to ensure that the fuel supply adheres to its locally produced, locally consumed policy. |
