NPS is a corporate supplier of high quality wood fuels at a very competitive price.

Wood fuel is carbon neutral and an environmentally friendly solution it provides very high levels of security of supply and the cost of heating buildings is reinvested in the immediate local economy. Wood fuel is significantly cheaper than oil or other fossil fuels therefore win win situation prevails.

NPS supplies two types of wood fuel: Woodchip and Pellets.

What is it?

Wood fuel can take form of either wood chip or wood pellet!!!

Wood Chip

Generated from various tree species – most commonly Sitka spruce.
The chipped wood fuel supplied by NPS will conform to CEN/TS 14961:2005- Solid Biofuels – Fuels specification and classes from the National Standards Authority of Ireland.

The calorific value of wood chip is largely dependent of moisture content. This can be seen in the table below.

Delivery

Delivery is carried out by two main methods
1. Tipping
2. Blowing

Our chips are monitored continually for particle size and moisture content to meet the regulatory standards!!!

NPS are currently purchasing wood pulp - preferably dry and please contact Kathryn at our offices to discuss details if you are a supplier.

Wood Pellet

The pellet is made from Sawdust. Pellets are held together by the wood's natural lignin that is released during the pellitising process due to heat and compression. Therefore no binding agent is necessary.

NPS Secure Fuel Supply

Natural Power Supply has very strong policies with regard the provision of a secure and sustainable wood fuel supply therefore our aim is not to restrict our supply to one source. Our feedstock is obtained from 3 major sources;

• Forestry - by-product such as thinning.
• Energy Crops – willow.
• Timber processing industry - by-product such as sawmill slabs

As a result we offer our customers a reliable service where the provision of wood fuel is assured at all times.
